Rapid Text Search for Lecture Videos using Subtitles
Youtube has the ability to transcribe your lecture conducted in English automatically. There is no need to do anything. Just enable the caption to enable the auto generated caption.

That lecture was actually recorded by Google Meet. The main purpose of the lecture was to explain the lecture slides so the lecturer's face is not critical.
That lecture takes 2 hours so will take a long time to absorb everything. It is time consuming if students only want a certain portionn of the video for more clarifications. Searching through the video is very tedious because we need to play the video first. Even fast forwarding the video is difficult because we cannot hear the audio when a video is fast forwarded.
The best method is to search through the subtitles. Fortunately, we can download Youtube subtitles and give to students.
Click your profile which is at the top right edge where we can upload our profile photo. Then click YouTube Studio.
Click <Subtitles> <your video> to get to the menu below. Just click <download>.
You will get the menu below. It means that the format is a .sbv subtitle.
The difference between a Subtitle and Transcript is that Subtitle has a time information inserted.

By using a text editor such as Notepad, students can search the topic that he is most interested in.
This text file can be edited using notepad as saved with the .sbv extension. Just click <Edit on Classic Studio> instead of <Download>.
Short edits are useful but it is still tediuos so not really necessary.
Merging may be a good practise. We can merge this auto generated Subtitle with the Chat during the Lcture. Students may ask questions during the sessions. This chat is actually saved as a Subtitle .sbv file also by Google Meet.
