Using digital cameras as Webcams

The Sony alpha 5100 is a promising camera. It has an APS-C sensor, it's small and affordable and for use as a streaming camera, it provides clean HDMI output. HOWEVER, there are several issues with it that you have to overcome first to use it as a studio camera.

Issue 1: supply permanent power.
Issue 2: focus jitter with certain 3rd-party lenses.
Issue 3: overheating.
Issue 4: a firmware bug that makes it near impossible to disable skin smoothing on the HDMI output.

It is NOT USEFUL as a vlogging camera due to its overheating issues and the lack of a microphone input.

It works great as a stationary studio/streaming camera though. Chris shows how to tame the Sony alpha 5100 for this specific use case.

Review of Anbiux 1080p 130degree Webcam

I bought this version of Anbiux 1080p Webcam. Anbiux 1080p Webcam 1 Anbiux webcam taking a picture of an ISO Chart. I cannot make this camera work with Lenovo W520 which I cannot install the Renesas USB3 card. The Microsoft default Renesas driver cannot work with the expresscard. You can invite guests by typing the label for your required group of student at the Add guests menu. When you save, it will advise you whether you want to send the invitation.
